Three parallel worlds generated with custom terrain, and linked by a shared Nether. Players could travel between them, extending the influence of communities, and the threat of raiders, to all frontiers.

The dark consequence of strategies and alliances optimised over multiple events. Raiders spread calamity in three separate worlds. The remainder of players formed defensive alliances or migrated to hidden sanctuaries.

Specialization Experiment Interim Report 3
CivLabs’ third specialization experiment tested Joyful’s Theory of Interdependence in Minecraft by dividing players into class roles. Data from 2,600 participants showed that higher specialization reduced mortality, though some worlds showed increased violence linked to healer distribution interdependence.
