Cataclysm

Event 4’s spawn was randomly chosen as a grassy coastline with mushroom islands on the northern horizon.
Players flocked to these islands where hostile mobs do not spawn, and mooshrooms provide plentiful food.
Mushroom islands were seen in previous events, but not on this scale. The progression boost was not sustainable, so Event 4 restarted the next day with new worlds: mushroom islands specifically excluded.
Their removal wasn’t the only change to the plugin. Features aimed at improving the experience for new players were added, including: limited access to classless healing; a grace period for bedless spawning; and the temporary use of the locator bar when first joining. There were also additional features less focused on the specialization scope, and the session days were reduced to Friday through Sunday.
In World Three, raiders acted fast to dominate the world order, and establish a supply chain for themselves. Their actions affected the whole world.
Proto-settlements such as Deadcow and Sandcastle were wiped out in the early sessions.
Icehelm’s citizens migrated away rather than help the raiders, yet as Civless they later became a staging post again.
TGBCoat made an uneasy alliance to supply gear for protection, but the population withered as dissenters were exiled.
Underground networks of players formed aiming to undermine the raiders, but with little effect.
La Citadella, a fortress in the sky, became a bastion of hope. It successfully rebuffed two raids, utilizing the strength of the skybase. However, the raiders only had to be victorious once to wipe it away.
The remaining players fled to sanctuaries at the edge of the world.
In Worlds One and Two, nations developed both near and far from spawn. They held multi-national meetings reminiscent of previous events; and built paths and bridges between settlements.
Two thirds through, in World Two, the guardsmen of Skylind peeled away from their nation to begin raiding. They targeted players, to reset class levels, instead of destroying infrastructure. Settlements were mostly left undamaged, and many players managed to hide or flee. A coalition army was formed, and the raiders dispersed or were hunted down.
In World One, there was comparative peace for the majority of the event. Near the end, some citizens of Carcosa led a raid on Spawn Beacon, but they were unable to get momentum amid backlash for their actions.
The event highlighted issues with anonymity across multiple events; the inability to guarantee loyalty to a settlement; and the fragility of settlements which only have to be breached once to fall. However, it also showed that many settlements failed to plan for attacks: easily found, at ground level, and without strong defences or strategies.
Event 4 was the formal end of the specialization experiment, opening the way for Event 5 to make changes previously considered unsuitable.

Session 3
Leadership Rift in Fort Poverty
Co-Leaders Iced_Ice and Mystic_Arrow disagreed about organisation and immigration policy. Iced_Ice was pushed out, and later formed Lactose.
Session 10
Progression Record set by Drowned Lagoon
Guided by the wise Gentle_Serenity, the lake-side settlement was able to attain two full sets of Netherite armor, the first in CivLabs history. They buried their wealth in a secret vault before the event's end.
Session 13
Carcosa Civil War
Deep-rooted tensions exploded after restless citizens raided the helpless Spawn Beacon. Those opposed abandoned Carcosa with pilfered resources, or attacked the returning raiders.
Session 16
Concert in Fort Poverty
Over half the active playerbase came together to hear music from Eternal_Moon, as the world saw a final sunset.
Session 8
Fiery Heist on Stormbreaker Isle
Precious materials were stolen from the storage room of the island fort. After a forest was discovered burned, Lunar_Orbit caught Drifted_Heart (previously cleared of the theft) with multiple used flint and steels. They were exiled.
Session 11
Hubris kills Trident Dawn’s Blacksmith
Donned only in golden armor and unsuspecting of visitors, Mellow_Sunbeam was stabbed in the back by assassin and traitor Scented_Sunset, who escaped unscathed.
Session 13
Skylind Guardsmen go Rogue
Golden_Sun led the squad on a world tour and attacked every settlement they found: Goodwill, Trident Dawn, and Ocelandia. The leader of Skylind, Dreamlike_Sky, denounced the rogue guardsmen for their actions, but could not stop them.
Session 14
Grand Coalition forms in Coral Cove
Citizens from across the world united above Coral Cove, on a platform the rogue guardsman could not reach. Later, the Coalition went after the guardsman, and killed any who hadn’t fled.
Session 2
Raider Wave Begins
Raiders visited Korios, Sandcastle, Dianthus, Deadcow, and other small settlements to plunder and gather troops. Anyone who didn’t join the wave was a target.
Session 5
First Siege of La Citadella
Defenders of the sky-citadel used snowballs to hinder the raiders’ dawn advance. By the time a skybridge was made, the raiders were low on supplies and forced to retreat.
Session 6
Icehelm is Lava-casted
Enchanted_Rift poured lava on the home of the raiders in retaliation for past crimes. Many peaceful inhabitants had migrated south to form Civless, while the raiders made a pact with the leader of TGBCoat.
Session 9
Second Siege of La Citadella
Raiders reached the farming platform after a traitor let down water. Defenders broke the connecting bridge and caused raider leader, Radiant_Obelisk, to fall to his death, halting the attack. Afterwards, Civless joined the sky-citadel.
Session 11
Third Siege of La Citadella
The third attack took citizens by surprise, and they were overrun. Coincided with the decline of other settlements. Wanderers found hope in a northern sanctuary, New Ithaca, founded by Fabled_Twilight.
Session 12
TGBCOAT feel the flame they fed
The cost of safety was high for TGBCoat: supplies went to the raiders to fuel their war, and dissenters were exiled. The fire finally came for the nation when its leader, Forgotten_Heart, misplaced a conspiratorial book.
